If you are looking for free traffic for your website you are going to need to know how to find ranking keywords and how to use them.
Today’s blog will cover how to find them and where to use them to get consistent targeted traffic.
Everyone can use traffic and getting it for free versus having to advertise and spend money is always a good thing but how will you know if what you are doing will be worth the work?
After all, nothing is really free and using this method for website traffic will still cost you time, so you do want to make sure your time is being spent wisely!
Let’s start with a walkthrough on what keywords are and why we want to rank keywords in general, then I will walk you through how I choose a keyword or keyword phrase and how I apply it in hopes of ranking the post or article on page one of the search engines.
What Are Keywords And Keyword Phrases?
Keywords and keyword phrases are what we use to search for information or items.
For example, if I am looking for information on “how to fish swordfish”, I may type in the search engine search box the single word “swordfish”.
My page one results will be all over the subject of swordfish from how to fish them and find them to how to cook them and everything in between!
Now we can narrow the search down by using a search phrase such as “How To Fish Swordfish” and now all of the page one results will be specifically about how to fish swordfish!
Now, if I am looking to get traffic to my website I would want my article I have written using that search phrase as a keyword to be on the first page of that search engine result.
Thus, I get the bulk of the traffic searching for that keyword phrase because page one search results always produce the most traffic!
HowCan You Be Sure You Rank Page One?
You can never get everything you write on page one results, but you can with an educated common sense approach get a good majority of them there, and that is what we call free traffic!
The key to doing this is to use lower searched phrases that do not have much competition surrounding them.
For example, the above search phrase results using my keyword tool of choice:(You can check this tool out for free by clicking here) “How to fish swordfish” gets an average of 40 visitors a month and only has 6 exact matches for that search phrase.
Now if I use this keyword phrase naturally in my article or post title, and then repeat it again naturally in the first paragraph, (This gets the search bots attention and lets them know this article or post is about a specific topic) and I also offer helpful detailed and focused information in the post/article I will be within those first 6 search results on page one of that search engine.
This process can take up to about 3 weeks to propagate and if I am using many different keyword phrases and writing articles or posts daily and having the ability with lower search results to rank the majority of them on page one I will have a huge amount of traffic!
This is just one of the many ways to get free traffic to your website so people can buy your products, subscribe to a service or mailing list, or any other reason you want to show your traffic!
This information and much more can be accessed where I do all of my marketing, hosting, and training and I would be happy to show you around for free if you are interested!
