With the many changes that SEO has gone through and all of the updates from Google, one question that has been floating around the net lately has been ” is article marketing worth the effort?
Let’s take a look at this question.
Anytime you can send targeted traffic to your website through an outside source it is worth the effort.
Article directories that get good readership are still worth their weight in gold, and ranking on page one of Google will bring targeted viewers.
It is hard to put a price on free traffic that is interested in what you are writing about.
The rules have changed a bit when writing content. It used to be OK to stuff a bunch of keywords into an article and send it in and you would get ranked in Google on or near page one.
Today you need to forget about the keywords a bit and write good quality content that not only informs readers, it shows them how to do things.
I use two keywords an article and they are natural, low competition keywords that work naturally within the article. Never get in the habit of writing an article around a keyword, it just does not work anymore.
Backlinks still relevant?
Backlinks are links within the article pointed back to your target website you are writing the article for. They are still very much relevant, but they must be related to your article.
A solid backlink that is relevant to your content will still help you rank in Google, but an unrelated link will hurt you.
Link wheels are still worth using and can bring large amounts of targeted traffic in a short amount of time.
